Jay Dworsky, RICP® represents the third generation of his family in the financial services industry. Jay’s great uncle, Peter Dworsky (shown right), began his career as a financial professional in 1922 and saw great success throughout the early 20th century, keeping the business strong through some of our country’s toughest times, including the Great Depression. The first turning point for Peter as a young professional was when he became aware of the importance of life insurance. After he had sold a policy to a young banker, Peter was equal parts dismayed and thankful when he learned that a freak accident had taken the life of his client, the young banker, as he was cleaning his tie with kerosene, used back then as a common fuel for lamps in America before the widespread adoption of electricity.
The life insurance policy that Peter sold helped the survivors—a young widow and her little children—to pay their living expenses and carry on financially during a time when few women worked as breadwinners. Peter realized he had helped them avoid devastation due to unexpected tragedy, and he went on to become an industry leader with Aetna Life & Casualty, eventually passing on his love and passion for his life’s work to his great nephew. In 2007, Jay adopted the family firm name, Dworsky Agency, when he took over his father’s firm. He used that name until 2020, when he rebranded the firm to Dworsky Wealth Management to better reflect the expanded services he provides to clients throughout the United States.
